About the event
Taru Lahti earned his BFA from CCS with a specialization in automotive design. Taru previously joined Ford Motor Company’s International Studio. Throughout the 1990s, Taru designed notable vehicles and won various awards in his field. In 2001, Taru shifted his career, making metal canvases using cutting, forming, and welding techniques to create three-dimensional effects and unique shadow patterns. He has exhibited in New York, Japan, and Detroit, including at the Detroit Institute of Arts, and has been featured in international publications.
